A new LAPD division
is being created and a new police station being built
to represent the Wilshire Center area. The location
is the Red Cross Building on 12th & Vermont, next
to a fire station. The purchase, design and construction
will take about 4 years until facility is actually open
and operating. It will be in the Central Bureau. The
station/division working name is Mid-Wilshire or Mid-City
and will be the 20th division. The boundaries for this
station/division are Beverly, Hoover, 10 Freeway and
Wilton/Arlington. The Division should open early 2008.
